While summer may be in full swing here at the lake, excitement is already building for the Oconee Performing Arts Society's upcoming fall season.
Several OPAS performances routinely sell out or reach capacity well before the performance date, making membership one of the most valuable ways to secure preferred seating. This fall’s lineup includes some of the organization's most anticipated events, from an inspiring Afternoon in Paris to one of Lake Country's most beloved holiday traditions. Together, these performances showcase the variety, artistry, and sense of community that have become hallmarks of the OPAS experience.
The 2026-27 season begins on September 13 with the highly anticipated return of the OPAS Candlelight Series. This year’s candlelight concert, An Afternoon in Paris, features acclaimed singer Christine Andreas, widely regarded as one of the premier interpreters of the Great American Songbook. Andreas will transport audiences to the romance and elegance of Paris through an afternoon of music, storytelling, and timeless sophistication.

The OPAS Candlelight Series quickly became a favorite among patrons last season, offering an intimate, unique setting that brought audiences closer to the performance and the performers. For many attendees, these concerts offer an experience unlike any other in the region.
Another audience favorite returns this fall: Broadway Sings for OPAS, led by Les Misérables, CATS, and Wicked conductor Evan Roider and the OPAS Philharmonic. This year’s show will feature four Broadway performers who have collectively appeared in more than 15 Broadway productions. This highly anticipated event combines the energy and excitement of New York's stages with the warmth and accessibility that audiences have come to expect from OPAS. Whether you are a lifelong theater enthusiast or simply enjoy great music and exceptional talent, this concert promises another unforgettable evening.

In addition to their performances, both Christine Andreas and conductor Evan Roider will lead masterclasses for local students, providing young artists with unique opportunities to learn directly from accomplished professionals.
Perhaps no event generates more anticipation each year than Fa-La-La, a beloved holiday Pops concert that sells out faster each season. For many local families, Fa-La-La has become an annual tradition and a highlight of the holiday season. This year's event will feature an additional matinee performance with complimentary admission for all students and children made possible through the generosity of the Strickler Family. Students from The Arts Barn will also join the OPAS Philharmonic under the direction of Wheeling Symphony conductor John Devlin, creating an unforgettable celebration of the season.
Additional fall programming includes the return of Rhythm & Brews, a signature outdoor event presented in collaboration with Reynolds Lake Oconee, and the OPAS Pop Up Series featuring The Concert Truck, which will bring complimentary performances to five locations in the community, giving residents a sneak peek into the upcoming season. For more details on these programs, visit OPAS.org.

The growth of OPAS has been driven by a simple mission: bringing exceptional artistic experiences to Lake Country. What began as a small community arts nonprofit has evolved into a mid-sized regional presenter known for nationally recognized artists, innovative programming, and expanded access to the arts through its education initiatives.
As attendance continues to grow and performances increasingly sell out, there has never been a better time for Reynolds residents to become OPAS members.
OPAS membership supports its extensive arts education initiatives, performing arts scholarships, and community outreach programs while also providing early access to some of the season's most sought-after performances. With tickets already available to members and several marquee events expected to draw strong demand, members can reserve their seats now and avoid missing some of the year's most popular programs.
With an ambitious new lineup on the horizon, OPAS continues to demonstrate that world-class performing arts are thriving in Lake Country. As anticipation builds for the upcoming season, residents are encouraged to visit OPAS.org or call 706.467.6000 to learn more about membership benefits and ticket availability.
