Oconee Performing Arts Society invites Lake Country to kick off summer in unforgettable style with the OPAS Memorial Day Weekend Concert at The Farm at Oconee on Saturday, May 23, at 8 PM. Gates open at 6 PM for an evening of music, picnics, family fun, and celebration under the stars.
This year’s concert will be especially meaningful as OPAS joins the national celebration of America’s 250th birthday. To mark the occasion, OPAS has added American Traditions Vocal Competition winner Elizabeth Baldwin to the program. Ms. Baldwin, an acclaimed American soprano, has appeared with the Dallas Opera, Opera San Jose, Kentucky Opera, Chautauqua Opera, the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra, Alabama Symphony Orchestra, San Diego Symphony, and Sarasota Symphony Orchestra, among others. She will be featured on a few selections that salute America and honor the rich musical traditions that have helped shape the nation’s cultural identity.

The evening will also celebrate some great American female singers and country music favorites audiences know and love, with songs made famous by artists such as Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Carrie Underwood, and more. Guests are encouraged to shine up their boots, pack their picnic, sing along and bring their best summer spirit. Cowboy hats are optional!
The concert features an extraordinary lineup of artists and musicians, including Grammy Award winner Nicole Zuraitis, Grammy Award-winning conductor, arranger, Matt Catingub, superstar drummer Steve Moretti, and the acclaimed Macon Pops Ensemble. Together, they will bring the excitement OPAS audiences have come to expect from this beloved annual tradition.
The Memorial Day Weekend Concert has become one of Lake Country’s favorite ways to welcome summer, combining world-class entertainment with the relaxed charm of an outdoor community gathering. Families are encouraged to arrive early, enjoy the beautiful setting, and take part in pre-concert activities, including face painting and fun for kids. Guests are welcome to bring their own picnics. A couple of food trucks will also be onsite to supplement the evening’s festivities.
General Admission tickets are $59, and table seats are $99. Tables seat eight guests, making them a perfect option for groups who want to enjoy the evening together. Children 10 and under are complimentary, and parking is free.
The Farm at Oconee is located at 1140 Oconee Heights Lane in Greensboro.
Join OPAS for an all-American evening of music, community, and celebration as Lake Country kicks off summer and salutes America in grand style. Tickets are available at the button below or by calling 706-467-6000.
