The Oconee Performing Arts Society (OPAS) is turning up the excitement for its highly anticipated Memorial Day Weekend Concert at The Farm at Oconee on Saturday, May 23, announcing an expanded lineup of nationally recognized artists, a record number of sponsors, and a major marketing partnership expected to draw more visitors to Lake Country than ever before.
Already one of the region’s signature events, OPAS has just announced the addition of two standout voices from today’s Nashville country music scene to join the Macon Pops Ensemble and previously announced artists, including Nicole Zuraitis, the 6x Grammy-nominated and 2x Grammy-winning vocalist, Grammy-winning arranger Matt Catingub, and American Traditions Vocal Collective grand prize winner, soprano Elizabeth Baldwin.
The concert is a tribute to the iconic women of country music, and honors America’s musical heritage as part of our nation’s 250th celebration with some patriotic selections.
Nicole Croteau, a Montana-born Nashville songwriter, has amassed more than 50 million streams and earned placements on Spotify’s New Music Friday Country and Apple Music’s New in Country.
Erin Kirby, the Georgia-born singer-songwriter described as “Adele Country,” has shared stages with Kellie Pickler, Lonestar, and Colt Ford and has earned recognition from SXSW and the Grand Ole Opry community.
This year’s event underscores the growing regional impact of OPAS and its role in bringing cultural tourism to the area. Fueling the tourism effort is marketing support from Visit Lake Oconee, helping amplify the concert’s reach throughout Georgia.
The OPAS Memorial Day Weekend Concert takes place Saturday, May 23, at The Farm at Oconee, located at 1140 Oconee Heights Lane in Greensboro. Gates open at 6 PM, and the concert begins at 8 PM.
Guests with General Admission lawn seating are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Table seating includes reserved tables with table coverings and eight chairs; no additional chairs are necessary.
