Built in 1820 by Gideon Widemire and 2 sons, Sandy Creek Barn was originally
known as the Shaw Barn. Widemire spent several years collecting timbers from
all over the state of Pennsylvania to build the large dairy barn.
Found in 2005, the barn was transported to Georgia and reconstructed on its
present site overlooking a 44 acre pond. This privately owned barn served as
the venue for OPAS's December 2007 production of Gian Carlo Menotti's Amahl
and The Night Visitors.
